Roofer's chic

Well, you might wonder what I'm talking about, but there's a lot of it about here, roofer's chic, that is.
And with the bedroom ceiling, (and parts of other ceilings) having recently fallen in as a result of some of the work on the roof, there will be a lot more of it about for a while yet!

The men have been toiling for what seems like months, in the face of snow, ice, rain, wind, all in extremis.

But they know how to dress for the job,and this being a fashion related blog, these things don't go unnoticed. The routine is: beanie (fleece or knitted/thinsulate lined), covered by a hoodie,(hood up)covered by a weatherproof padded, hooded jacket (hood up). Tracky bottoms, (maybe two pairs?!), buckle-on knee pads, big sturdy, pale suede builders boots, grip gloves.
No bravado concerning exposed skin, macho-ness or anything like that, and who would blame them?

Well, workwear isn't particularly my thing, but I'm just admiring of these guys, and how they do their job.

Despite all this however,my students and customers are very uncomplaining, and it's business as usual at Atelier Towers!
